You don’t forget to put on makeup every morning, right? Well, in the same way, you should not forget to remove that makeup every night – you already know that!
But, do you know that you don’t have to spend a lot of money on makeup remover products full of chemicals, irritants, and preservatives? Making your own couldn’t be easier! Sometimes you only need one ingredient.
You can also combine them in two steps, depending on your skin type. For example, you can use a pure oil to massage and dissolve makeup, and then rub a cotton pad soaked in milk or witch hazel to remove all traces.
Cleanser or makeup remover? Not sure which one to use? This post will clear your doubts.
Oils are an excellent natural way to dissolve makeup, but they need a little help to be removed from the complexion, as they don’t rinse off easily.
That’s why a two-step approach is also the best way to ensure that your skin is completely clean and ready to receive the beneficial actives of your skincare routine.
Take your time, massage these ingredients into your face, and let them remove excess oil, impurities, and makeup.
1. Coconut Oil

This wonderful ingredient impresses with its simplicity. You don’t need anything else to remove makeup – even waterproof! and you also reap all its benefits: hydrates the delicate skin around the eyes; cleans without irritating and nourishes the complexion thanks to its high concentration of vitamins and fatty acids.

Isn’t it great that you already have a makeup remover in your kitchen? Use moisturizing olive oil to remove impurities from dry or sensitive skin. What people like most about this oil is that it penetrates the skin, leaving it soft and very nourished.
Unlike other makeup removers, it doesn’t leave the complexion irritated or reddened. Instead, it removes even the toughest makeup, such as waterproof mascara, without causing any damage to sensitive skin.
You can mix it with the pleasant scent of rose water, just a few drops, to use it as a regular makeup remover, wiping away the residues with a cotton pad.
3. Aloe Vera

You already know the miraculous benefits of this plant, it helps soothe the skin and contains a plethora of amino acids and vitamins, so include it in your nighttime routine. Being composed of 95% water, you can be sure that it is extraordinarily hydrating and refreshing for the face.
And if you add olive oil, the makeup removing and nourishing benefits are multiplied! You’ll notice that the oil floats on top of the gel. Therefore, before applying, you should shake the mixture well and use it immediately before the oil and water separate again.
This makeup remover is incredibly light and gentle, yet powerful enough to remove any water-resistant makeup.
This would also be a great formula if you have any allergies or sensitivities to chemicals, or just sensitive skin in general.
