The biggest disadvantage that we highlight is that they are cosmetics that we believe are convenient to use on specific occasions, but not with a frequency or a constant habituality.
The main reason is that it is low-cost cosmetics (also known as low cost), which is not the “panacea”, that is, its components are nothing out of this world, but for getting by in specific moments there will be no problem.

But, we wondered… is their effectiveness really that high? So, to clear all the doubts that haunt us we have set out to know them more thoroughly, in-depth.
The result of our investigation, about these products, you have below.
1. Antiage and anti-spot sunscreen SPF 50 +
If you’re looking for a protective cream that in addition to protecting you from the sun’s rays, also includes an anti-aging treatment, this Solcare cosmetic might be a good option.
It includes, therefore, two specific treatments: the first one is in charge of protecting our skin from the damage that occurs over time, such as wrinkles and on the other hand, it also introduces a treatment to improve spots.
The formation of spots, if we maintain a constant exposure to the sun without a suitable protective cream can pose a real problem on our face.
These types of spots usually have an uneven dark brown tone that, in addition to adding years to our skin, take away a lot of luminosity.
The appearance of these spots, apart from being caused by sunlight, is also often the reflection of some hormonal problems.
If we do not protect our skin and use a treatment to deal with them, we will soon notice how we have more spots or patches on our face.
To counteract the dark tone of these spots, this protection also includes anti-aging components such as vitamin B3, a fabulous antioxidant and UVA + UVB filter that make up a complete, broad-spectrum sun protection.

2. Colored facial protector SPF 50 +
If you have an uneven skin tone, have spots, freckles, or simply cannot go without makeup, this protective fluid can be very useful in your day.
Containing a bit of color in the fluid, we will manage to disguise all those imperfections that are present in our complexion and that we prefer to hide.
It contains an SPF 50 and thanks to this natural color contribution, we will achieve a more tanned tone, in a very natural and very uniform way.
In the composition of this fluid vitamin E is included, an antioxidant that prevents aging in the skin and keeps it hydrated; it also has a protective active, which keeps DNA safe, repairing cellular damage caused by the sun or the activity of free radicals.
Another of its properties is that it is water-resistant, so we will be able to keep it on our face for a longer time without moisture removing it quickly, as happens with other creams of this style.
We can use it daily because it absorbs quickly into the skin and does not leave an uncomfortable or sticky feeling.
On the other hand, this product has some drawbacks, because if you have skin with a very white tone we totally discourage it since it is a medium color tone and you could end up with an excessive tanned tone.
Another drawback is that if we apply it near the eye area, we may notice a feeling of discomfort and stinging, it can even sting our eyes a bit, so… be very careful!
3. Rapid absorption sunscreen SPF 50 +
It is one of our favorite solar products from Solcare because it contains two characteristics, which in our opinion are quite remarkable.
The first one is that it has a very rapid absorption and we will immediately notice that there are no residues on our face. The second is that it provides a skin tone with a healthy effect and we quite like it to use it as a base before applying makeup.
In its formulation, we can notice aloe vera, protective UVA sun filters and UVB filters. Among its characteristics, in addition to protecting from the sun’s rays, it must also be added that it is a fluid that protects, soothes, hydrates, and fights the oxidative stress of the dermis.
Oxidative stress is one of the great responsible for premature cutaneous photo-aging.
The texture is not dense, being just as described, a fluid of rapid absorption that does not leave grease on the skin of the face.
It contains a special container since the container itself protects the properties of the cosmetic from light and air, preserving them and keeping them intact.
One of the cons of this fluid is that, it can be quite bothersome and irritate the eyes; when applying it we can notice that stinging sensation, so uncomfortable.
On the other hand, another of the drawbacks is that it contains an aroma too strong, for our taste, so if you prefer creams that contain a more subtle aroma, this facial protector will not be to your liking.

As we have added with the previous creams, it happens that on many occasions the discomfort in sensitive areas, such as the eyes, is very frequent.
To deal with these discomforts, at Mercadona we will also find a sunscreen that takes care of these more delicate areas such as the nose area or the contour of lips and eyes.
It has an applicator that is very comfortable and very practical to spread on these areas, which allows us to dose the exact amount of product we want to use, thus avoiding wasting not even a single drop.
It contains a calming active, which in addition to minimizing sensitivity reduces irritation, controlling that these areas of the face redden or appear discomfort and itching or a stinging sensation.
It has a complete protection of SPF 50 + and is enriched with vitamin E and aloe vera.
Having a high protection factor, sensitive areas will be less exposed and more protected against the sun’s rays and external agents.
5. Oil-free facial sunscreen SPF 30 +
It contains an oil-free formulation, being the ideal product for combination skin and oilier skin.
In addition to being oil-free, it has a very light and refreshing gel-type texture that adds a very pleasant sensation of freshness.
Above all, we will notice this more refreshing sensation in the summer months. It is composed of a DNA protective active and also contains vitamin E.
It manages to hydrate the skin well and provide extra protection against free radicals, neutralizing the signs of aging.
Despite being a cosmetic free of oils, it is better not to use an excessive amount because it takes quite a while to be absorbed into the face and some unwanted shine may end up appearing.
Especially, if you have oilier skin you may experience the appearance of these shines on the face that we mentioned.
One of the drawbacks we have found in this product is that it contains a somewhat low protection factor for use in full daylight.
We prefer to opt for sunscreens that contain a factor of 50 +.
6. Facial protection stick SPF 30 +
This stick for the face is the little one of the family, having a very compact size it is a convenient protector to carry in the purse or take it anywhere as it hardly takes up any space.
You can keep your skin well protected at all times, because thanks to its packaging it allows you to use it comfortably wherever you are, whether on the street, the beach, or the pool.
It stands out above all for its format that we can use without the danger of contaminating the product because it is not necessary to use hands to apply or spread it.
It is a colorless cosmetic, with a light texture not sticky, when spreading it we will not notice that the skin is left with a white tone, with cream residues.
The biggest disadvantage for us of this product is that it contains low protection and for day-to-day we believe that an SPF 30 is insufficient.
Conclusions: advantages and disadvantages
Although these sunscreens can help you a lot, in situations where you do not have the option to use another type of product, for the price they have the truth is that we cannot ask for more.
The advantage we highlight most about these products is that they contain a wide protection factor, since most have SPF 50 +.
Thanks to this high protection, we will be able to be calm about not suffering burns or skin damage. But, as expected for this price, it is not strange that they also present some disadvantages.
Some of these drawbacks we have already mentioned, such as the mentioned itching or stinging of the eyes.
That we notice this type of discomfort has an explanation: some ingredients used in these products have irritating effects because they are components of little natural origin, whose origin is synthetic.
Most do not include a high concentration of actives or natural components, many of them even harmful to health and skin.
Our conclusion is that these types of cosmetics can have a positive use as long as it is more occasional, but if we have really decided to use a sunscreen every day, we would not opt for any of these options.
We believe that it is much better to opt for a healthier alternative, containing more natural components and less components that can be irritating or ultimately harmful to our health.
